Magnus Böcker was the Executive Chairman of Blibros, his own investment company based in Singapore and Stockholm with a focus on companies participating in the current digital transformation.
Magnus held over three decades of experience in the financial industry. He was the CEO of the Singapore Exchange from 2009 – 2015, and previously the President of Nasdaq. Prior to that, he played an instrumental role in the creation of OMX, the Nordic exchange and technology group, and the eventual merger of OMX and Nasdaq in 2008. During his tenure with OMX, Magnus served in various capacities, including being CFO, COO and president of the OMX Technology division, before he became CEO of OMX in 2003. Under his leadership, OMX became the world’s largest provider of technology solutions for exchanges and clearing organisations.
Magnus was Honorary Chairman of the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) and Non-Executive Chairman of Tricor. He was a member of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics at Singapore Management University, and the Bandra Kurla Complex International Financial Services Centre in Mumbai.
Magnus held several advisory roles with his expertise in the financial market – he was Senior Advisor to Bain & Co. in relation to Financial Markets, Exchanges and Fintech and also an Advisor to Permira in Asia.
Magnus has held many notable past appointments, including Chairman of the Board at Orc Group AB, Chairman of Dustin AB, Chairman of the Diversity Action Committee Singapore; Board Member of the Shanghai International Financial Advisory Council, World Federation of Exchanges, the Mount Sinai Surgery Advisory Board in New York; Member of the CSM Sport and Entertainment Global Advisory Board; and Council Member of the Institute of Banking and Finance in Singapore.
