tryb Group has made key appointments to deepen the firm’s operating efficiencies and technology capabilities. Lien Choong Luen and Jason Strimpel were brought on board as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Platforms, respectively, to further strengthen tryb’s position as a leading operating partner for enterprise and B2B financial technology companies.

Lien will be responsible for tryb’s overall strategy and day-to-day operating activities. Lien has deep experience developing and executing strategy with large teams. He served as Special Forces Commander in the Singapore Armed Forces, leading units up to battalion size (650 men) and was responsible for long-term strategy at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF).

He spent five years as a management consultant at McKinsey, first in China focusing on enterprise strategy and operations within the technology, consumer and healthcare sectors, and subsequently as Head, South-East Asia at the McKinsey Centre for Government. In his free time, he does extreme sports including climbing K2 and Mount Everest.

Jason Strimpel Appointed Head of Platforms

Jason will support tryb’s strategic acquisitions of adjacent technologies that form the building blocks of the emerging tryb platform and work across portfolio companies at the group level to drive synergies and manage technology projects. Jason was Chief Information Officer at COFCO International, overseeing the enhancement and support of 40 global enterprise applications across 10 functional areas. Jason was also Global Head of Rapid Application Development at BP. He managed global teams of developers who provided technology across the global derivatives trading business.
