Girija was also the Vice Chairman of TCS’ joint venture with the Chinese Government in Beijing in 2001. Girija’s also served as the Economic Advisor to the Mayor of Guangzhou, China’s third largest city. As a banker with ANZ Banking Group over two decades, he held senior postings in Korea, Hong Kong, Bahrain and India.

In addition, Girija has served on professional and government think tanks in Singapore and India. He was a council member for the Singapore Government’s Manpower Council set up by the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) and serves on the advisory board of Singapore Management University (SMU). He serves on the board of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce (SICC) and the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), which is affiliated to the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is a Trustee of Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) and on the board of the Singapore’s National Council of Social Services.

Girija is currently on the Boards of eAF Pte Ltd., Micro-Mechanics (Holdings), Ascendas India Trust and Ascendas Property Fund Trustee. He holds an engineering degree and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.
